Jewelry Returns, Exchanges, and Repairs

You have 30 days from the day your piece is delivered. It needs to come back unworn, in original condition, in the packaging it arrived in. Below is what that means, what it costs you, and how to start. If you would rather just ask, email orders@camillejewelry.com.

The short version

Order value Exchange or credit Refund to card
Under $750 No fee No fee
$750 and above No fee 8 percent plus label
Final sale Not accepted Not accepted

Return shipping. On orders under $750 you arrange it and pay for it. On orders of $750 and above I send you an insured label at no cost. Details on outbound delivery are on the shipping page.

What I can accept back

A piece is returnable when all of the following are true.

  • It reaches me within 30 days of the delivery date shown on the tracking record.
  • It has not been worn. No scratches, dents, sizing marks, body oil, fragrance, or makeup residue.
  • It arrives with the original box, pouch, care card, and any certificate or appraisal that shipped with it.
  • It has not been resized, engraved, altered, or repaired by anyone other than me.

Pierced earrings get looked at closely. Hygiene standards mean I can only accept them back if they have clearly never been worn and arrive with everything they shipped with.

Every piece that comes back gets opened at my bench and inspected under a loupe. If something arrives worn, altered, or missing its packaging, I email you before I do anything at all. You can have it shipped back to you at your cost, or leave it with me.

Orders under $750

Ship it back to me tracked. You choose the carrier and you cover the cost. Exchange, store credit, or a refund to your card, and there is no fee on any of the three.

One thing to know before you drop it off. A return you ship yourself travels at your risk. Use a tracked and insured service, and hold onto the receipt. If the package is lost or damaged before it reaches me, the claim sits with the carrier you chose, and I am not able to issue a refund or a replacement.

Orders of $750 and above

These travel insured in both directions. I send the return label.

Exchange or store credit is free. The label is on me, and store credit never expires.

A refund to your card has two deductions. The actual cost of the insured label, and a restocking fee of 8 percent of the price you paid for the item, calculated before tax. Insured, signature required transit on fine jewelry is expensive in both directions, and that fee covers the round trip, the inspection, and returning the piece to inventory.

What is final sale

  • Made to order styles
  • Custom designs
  • Personalized and engraved pieces, including initial charms with engraving added at checkout
  • Rings that have been resized
  • Pieces from The Archive Edit
  • International orders
  • Gift cards

Final sale means, these cannot be returned, exchanged, or credited. Engraving is cut into the metal for one person and cannot be undone. A resized ring no longer matches the size it was made in. On international orders, duties, taxes, and shipping charges are not refundable either.

Gift cards and store credit cannot be exchanged for cash.

How to start

  1. Email orders@camillejewelry.com with your order number, and tell me whether you want an exchange, store credit, or a refund.
  2. I reply with instructions, and with an insured label if your order was $750 or above.
  3. Pack the piece in its original box and packaging.
  4. Ship it within 7 days of receiving my instructions.

Please do not send anything back before you hear from me. Returns that arrive without instructions are not covered, and I have no reliable way to match an unannounced package to an order.

Refunds and timing

Store credit is issued the day your piece arrives.

Card refunds are processed within 5 business days of arrival and inspection. Refunds go back to the original payment method only. I cannot send one to a different card, a different person, or a bank account.

Once I release the refund, your bank decides when it lands. That is usually 3 to 10 business days, and it sits outside my control.

If something arrives damaged or wrong

Email me within 7 days of delivery with a photo. If the fault is mine, I cover the return shipping, there is no fee of any kind, and you choose between a replacement and a full refund. This applies to final sale pieces too.

Repairs

A manufacturing fault inside the first 90 days is on me. I repair or replace the same piece at no charge, and I cover shipping in both directions.

After that I am still happy to look at anything. Wear, accidental damage, a lost stone, a stretched chain. Email me a photo, I quote the work before I start, and you cover shipping to me. Nothing gets done without your approval on the price. Most of it is preventable, and the jewelry care guide covers how.

Ring sizing

Use the ring sizer before you order. Getting the size right the first time is the difference between a free exchange and a final sale piece.

An unworn ring still in its original size can be exchanged inside the 30 day window under the terms above. Once a ring has been resized it is final sale, because it no longer matches the size it was made in.

Gifts

If you received a piece as a gift, email me with the order number or the name of the person who bought it. Gift returns are issued as store credit to you, not as a refund to the original card. Nobody has to have an awkward conversation.

Wholesale and trade orders

Orders placed through Faire or on wholesale terms are covered by the wholesale agreement, not by this page.

Terms that apply to everything above

  • Condition is assessed by me on arrival, and that assessment is final.
  • Original shipping charges are not refundable.
  • Promotional credits and gift with purchase items must come back with the piece, or their value is deducted from the refund.
  • If you open a payment dispute instead of emailing me, I will respond with the order record, the delivery confirmation, and this policy. Email me first. Almost everything gets solved the same day.
  • I may update this policy. The version published on this page on the day you place your order is the version that applies to your order.
  • This policy is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
