The Magnetic Eyeglass Holder Lanyard is a Japanese nylon cord with a magnetic clasp that opens with one hand. Clip it to your frames and your glasses hang at your chest instead of disappearing into your hair. Unclip the eyewear ends and the same cord holds your earbuds. Six colors, three lengths, plated brass hardware that is nickel free.

How It Works

As an Eyeglass Holder

Slide the silicone loops over the temple arms of your frames. They grip any standard eyewear, prescription or sunglasses, thin wire or thick acetate. The magnetic clasp at the back releases with a pull instead of a twist, so you are not fighting a lobster claw behind your neck with one hand.

As an Earbud Holder

Detach the eyewear ends and clip your earbuds to the same cord. They stay at your collarbone through a commute, a workout, or an afternoon of taking calls, instead of rolling under a car seat.

Sizing

Three lengths, because a lanyard that fits an adult sits at a child's waist.

• Kids, 21 inches. Sits high on the chest for ages five and up.
• Women's, 27 inches. The standard length. Glasses rest just below the collarbone.
• Men's, 31 inches. Cut longer for broader shoulders and higher necklines.

Lengths are fixed rather than adjustable, which is why the size matters. Measure an existing lanyard if you are between options.

A Note on the Kids Length

The magnetic clasp is a breakaway. If the cord catches on anything, it separates instead of pulling. That is the reason we make a children's size at all, and it is the difference between this and a fixed cord croakie.

Will this fit my glasses?

Yes. The silicone loops stretch over the temple arms of any standard frame, including prescription glasses, reading glasses, sunglasses, and prescription sunglasses. They work on thin wire arms and thick acetate alike.

Is the magnet strong enough to hold my glasses all day?

Yes. The clasp holds through normal movement, walking, bending, and driving. It releases when you pull it deliberately or when the cord catches on something, which is the safety behavior we want.

What length should I order?

Women's at 27 inches is the standard adult length and fits most people. Men's at 31 inches is cut for broader shoulders or higher collars. Kids at 21 inches fits ages five and up. Lengths are fixed, so order by the wearer rather than expecting to adjust.

Can men and women both wear this?

Yes. It is a unisex design, which is why we cut it in three lengths rather than one. The color range covers both a black cord that reads as neutral and five colors that do not.

Is it safe for someone with a pacemaker?

No. The magnetic closure means we do not recommend this style for anyone with a pacemaker or implanted cardiac device. Choose a lobster clasp style instead.

How do I clean it?

Wipe the cord with a damp cloth and let it air dry. Keep the plated hardware away from water, perfume, and lotion. The plating will last years with that habit and months without it.

Does it come ready to give?

Yes. Every lanyard arrives on a printed card with wear instructions on the back, so it can be handed over without additional wrapping.
